Naoko Yamada (The Silent Voice, K-On movie, Tamako Market mfl.), den enligt många starkast lysande stjärnan på Anime himlen just nu, släpper äntligen en ny film. Den var väl tänkt att vara klar i höstas men som så mycket annat så drog det ut på tiden. I augusti får den premiär i Japan. Sen får vi väl se hur lång tid det tar innan vi får se den. Jag ser helt klart fram emot att se vad hon har på gång. Hennes filmspråk är helt klart mästerligt och även om hon kanske inte kan mäta sig med Makoto Shinkai i vad det gäller "visual impact" och detaljrikedom så kan hon med enkla medel berätta en historia långt mycket bättre än honom. Det jag ser av trailern så ser det klart spännande ut och tecknarstilen påminner helt klart om Liz and the Blue Bird. Det är även samma manusförfattare som till den filmen, Reiko Yoshida. Tyvärr lär väl inte den här komma på bio i Sverige gissar jag. Den har ju inte lika mycket kioskvältarpotential som Your Name mfl. men vi får hoppas att den kommer att gå att se under hösten nån gång på något sätt.

Om Filmen:
I am attracted to your "color".

Totsuko, a high school student, sees people in "colors.
Happy colors, joyful colors, peaceful colors. And her favorite color.

Totsuko meets Kimi, a girl who goes to the same school as Totsuko and who radiates beautiful colors,
Kimi, a girl with beautiful colors who went to the same school, and Rui, a boy who loves music, whom she met at a used bookstore in a corner of the city, form a band.

Kimi has not confided in her family that she has stopped going to school.
Rui, whose mother expects him to become a doctor, is hiding behind his musical activities.
Each of them, including Totsuko, has their own problems that they cannot tell anyone.

The band practices at an old church on a remote island.
As the three of them find their way to each other through music, feelings of friendship and even a hint of love begin to emerge.

They are too much in tune with their surroundings, hurt by themselves, and pretending to be something they are not.
Eventually, the school festival and their first live performance arrive.
What "colors" do the three of them show in front of the audience?
